You must agree that you can’t organize your room (and if you do, you can’t keep it organized) when you have too much stuff in your room that you don’t even use or need at all. 

So the first step of organizing would be decluttering; basically, getting rid of the unused stuff.

Now, this doesn’t have to be a big or stressful task. 

You can keep it as simple as grabbing a bag, box, or laundry basket and walking around your room. 

Look at what’s lying around—on your desk, shelves, floor, or even in your drawers—and ask yourself: 

Have I used this in the last six months? Do I even need it? 

If not, toss it in the bag. Done.

This is a super-easy way to reset your room and create space before you even think about organizing.

If you prefer a more guided method, you can try something like the KonMari method, which is all about only keeping items that “spark joy.” It’s a bit more detailed but can be helpful if you like following steps.
